I can’t understand the 2012 theories. My first objection is this: In modern times, no one has paid attention to Mayan beliefs, so why do they now? The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. Maybe the Mayans just thought the calender didn’t need to go on any longer. Doesn’t that seem altogether plausible? Basically from everything I have read, there is no evidence at all that anything bad or different is happening in 2012. So knowing that, can I conclude that the 2012 conspirators are just a bunch of weird people that aren’t very intelligent? Just because the Mayans ended their calender then, is that reasonable evidence for a global change/doomsday? How much of society’s modern culture is influenced by the Mayans anyway? I have actually heard that the Mayan people themselves discredit this 2012 theory. If we are going to respect their calender, shouldn’t we also respect what they say about it?
